Project Name: Employee Canteen extension and renovation
Name of Client: TIMKEN company
Type of project: Recreational architecture & interiors
Location: TIMKEN campus, Jamshedpur
Status : Ongoing
The Timken company has undertaken a project to enhance the seating capacity of its existing employee canteen and also rejuvenate the existing seating hall of the canteen. The proposal entails provision of steel structure, attached to the existing canteen hall, removal of the intermediate wall and therefore combining the halls together to form a larger space and thereby increasing the capacity.
The steel structure was envisioned as an symmetric double sloping structure to accommodate the various heights of the structure surrounding the new steel structure. This would cater to the runoff rain water from the metal roof unto the adjoining structures and also create and interesting volume inside the hall. The main hall was retrofitted with some false ceiling and LED lights. The facility would also entail increasing the capacity of the existing toilet, and the AHU unit of the Air Conditioner accordingly.
The project has been taken up as a turnkey venture in partnership with M/s Liv N Space.
